The English School section has 172 members and in 2018 sponsored or co-sponsored 20 panels at the International Studies Association conference in San Francisco. Section members have also convened panels at BISA and EISA and are keen to organise future events in the Global South.

The section has six working groups, ‘Foreign Policy’, ‘Security and International Society’ ‘Institutions of International and World Society’, ‘Solidarism and Pluralism in International Society’, ‘Regional International Society’ and ‘History of International Society’. Please feel free to contact the convenors and get involved.
The working groups regularly convene panels and arrange workshops (two are happening in May 2019, one on ‘The Past, Present, and the Future of International Order’ at the University of Copenhagen on May 6, 2019; the other is on ‘Contemporary and Historical Logics of Violence, War and Armed Force in International Society’ at the University of Birmingham on 28 May 2019.
